An Unfolding

Where do I even begin? Honestly, this feels like one of those “let me call you back, I have gist” moments but let me behave and keep it cute.

First of all, thank you for being here. I don’t take it lightly. The fact that you’re reading this, whether you landed here out of curiosity, vibe, or anything else this really means everything to me.

Now, to be totally honest, putting this website together nearly broke me. Not in the I cried and ate ice cream dramatically at 2am kind of way (okay maybe just once), but in the I underestimated how many tabs I could open at once without losing my mind kind of way. I thought I’d be stringing a few puzzle pieces together, pick fun fonts, toss up a handful of product photos, and call it done. What I really signed up for, it turns out, was an unexpected crash course in staying calm while the digital world throws everything at you at once.

But just like when I sew, when thread tangles, needles snap, and the fabric refuses to cooperate, I kept pushing. Because every now and then, there was this moment...

When something clicked.

When the page refreshed.

And suddenly, my vision, my baby blinked back at me on screen. And that made it all worth it.

So, allow me to (re)introduce myself: I’m Odunayo, but in the fashion world I go by KeziaWalz, the proud creator and head chaos coordinator of DeKeziaWalz aka DKW.

Let me tell you a little secret: I didn’t choose fashion, fashion chose me. After walking through a traumatic chapter in my life, I wandered into fashion school looking for a distraction and accidentally found a lifeline. What started as a side quest became a whole new book. Sewing gave me something to feel smart about. Something to pour love into. Something that finally made me feel like me again.

That’s how DeKeziaWalz was born not from ease, but from fire.

Now, about the name:

Kezia is my biblical name, it means “fragrance,” and baby, we carry that sweet aroma of confidence in every stitch. "Walz" was a nickname a friend gave me soft, cheeky, unforgettable and “De” is just me adding a little drama. A little sauce. A little je ne sais quoi.

So, what do we do at DeKeziaWalz?

We design clothes that speak before you do. Garments that walk into a room and make it pause. Pieces that make you feel like you just might be the plot twist in someone’s story. Because why not? I design for the woman who wants to stand out, not shout. For the girl who knows her worth but still checks the mirror twice just to admire the art. For the one who understands that style isn’t about following trends, it’s about trusting her own taste. Right now, we’re mostly serving the ladies, but don’t worry fellas your time is coming. Stay close.

This blog "Walz & Whispers" will be the behind-the-scenes, the voice notes, the midnight thoughts, the mess and the magic. It’s where I get to show up as me raw, real, and wrapped in drama (just the right amount).
